Fashion in today’s world is no less than therapy at least for those who cannot afford it or those who think they do not need it.
Imagine working a job where you constantly wonder ‘I can do more than this’ and if you find yourself wearing a basic fit while thinking that, atleast I feel like doing nothing post work and just go back home to ponder more about what am I doing with my life? followed by emotional eating of course.
On the other hand, going to the same job looking like ‘mujhse sundar aur confident toh koi hai hi nai’ makes you see your life from a winning persepective. And boy do we all need it for times when we are fighting the silent battles within ourselves thinking about what have I accomplished till now and the list keeps getting long with stuff that you think is wrong with you.
However, If there is anything about OOTD’s is that they push you to dress better not to impress anybody but yourself because I believe that you owe yourself to make yourself feel that you’re the best person you know not in a God complex way but if you were sitting with Shahrukh khan, Taylor swift or Elon Musk, it is because you belong to sit with them and not because you got lucky.
The 10 second fashion reels or outfit of the day you watch or skip on social media is someone’s 10 seconds of acknowledgement for the thought they put to make themselves feel better about their life. Therefore, it is not random or useless but a way of showing gratitude for the outfit that made them feel ‘Mei apni/apna favourite hu’.
